Warm with Wood Heat

Well we have had our wood stove installed for a 11 days now.  According to the guys I am pretty sure we picked the coldest day of the year to put the stove in (New Years).  We had Chester up in the attic doing the work there.  Jack was the runner.  Jess and Jake on the roof installing the pipe, and Grandpa Dale in the house supervising.  Lets just say, we are so thankful to have it in and working.  It was a wonderful day having all the family over for homemade pizza, a little hard work and some card games.  Happy to say the stove works good, sometimes a little too good.  We have had to open the front door a time or two to regulate the temperature.  But so thankful for it. nothing warms you up faster than getting your buns warmed in front of the fireplace when you have been out in the cold.  Thanks everyone for your help.  Here are some fun pictures from installation day.
are you sure?

  1. Yeah, I'm glad it is up and going! You've only been talking about it for the past two months. hehehe

I had to laugh at the part where you mentioned opening the door to cool the house down. It made me think of Thanksgiving day at Auntie Pams' house!
